I made two recipes from this book; I am an experienced cook and one recipe, Bloody Cobbler, was a complete failure from how the recipe was written. The filling boiled the cherries and sugar, then asked to add TWO CUPS of water. This looked strange, but I did it anyway, and it made a watery mess. I make lots of jams and jellies and pies and there was simply too much liquid to ever boil down to a reasonable filling, and it still managed to be too sweet. If they intended a thickener, it isn't in the recipe. The second recipe I tried was the Fall Salad, which sounded delicious. The dressing, however, called for 1 cup of apple cider to 1/2 cup apple vinegar to 1/4 cup of oil. If you make dressing, you can immediately see the problem in the ratio of fat to liquid. I reduced it to 1/2 cup juice and 1/4 cup vinegar and still made over 1.5 cups of dressing to be used on a single salad. Eh. That might have been fine, but the combination of salad ingredients just didn't work, it was like a kitchen sink of flavors that simply didn't come together. My cookbook club made other recipes from the book with similar, uneven or simply bad, results. The pictures are pretty, and that's about it.

If you love sour cream then get this book. I hate sour cream yet it does list a substition.Seriously, why do most recipes have sour cream?!The original drinks look interesting.I really bought this book to add to my collection as I'm a Tim Burton fan. The section about party themes and decorations is a cheap filler.I felt either this book should've been cheaper for the actual content or replace the filler content with additional recipes.If this goes on sale for less than $10.00 then do it, otherwise, don't spend $16.00 on this.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! This book is so thoughtful well written and very inspiring plus the recipes are just to die for!! Zach neil is such a kind person including everyone and beetle house is just a place that'll take your breath away, its definitely worth it all around, THANK YOUU!

Interesting and whimsical recipes and everything I have tried so far has been wonderful! Some of the recipes are a bit time-consuming to make in their entirety, but the ingredients are easy to find and the book provides ideas for converting many of the recipes so they are vegan-friendly! The Soul Sauce is excellent.

Granddaughter liked it, but it was a little more babyish than I was expecting.

My 10 year old niece loved this for her birthday. She loves to cook and enjoyed looking at the recipes.

Loved it so much, ordered a second one to give as as a gift. I’ve been to the Beetlejouse restaurant, so this was a special cookbook for me.

This is a very unique and fun cookbook with some keeper recipes in it!

Two of our grandchildren live in Mexico City. I bought it for them. They loved it and it was written well.

Great book for kids. Gives a lot of concise information in an easy to read format. My six year was excited to see mention of Frida Kahlo and Day of the Dead. Also it is nice that it highlights not only the differences of children from around the world, but the similarities too. I highly recommend this book.

Nice and sturdy board book with a spotted kitten, striped kitten, thirsty kitten, hungry kitten, short haired kitten, long haired kitten, clean kitten, messy kitten, playful kitten, sleepy kittens, big kitten and little kitten. Each page with something to touch and feel.

My 11 month old loves cats. He squeals whenever he sees one of our pet cats or a picture of a cat. I bought this book to keep in the diaper bag, it works as a wonderful distraction if my son is getting fussy. He loves looking at the “real” cat pictures and feeling the soft patches on them.

IT ARRIVED IN A TIMELY MANNER AND IN GOOD CONDITION. I LOVED IT. I WISHED IT HAD MORE KITTENS IN IT AND WAS LONGER.

I was looking to get my 9 month old a photo board book of cats. She was just beginning to get into the "touch and feel" elements of books so I gave this one a go. It's ok. It kind of annoys me that there are two conflicting ideas on each page- like "ready to play!" and "spotted kitten" on the same page. It just makes it hard to read to a tiny baby so they understand what the idea of that page is. I typically just try to ignore the "descriptor" text and just read her the "name" of the kitten but sometimes I forget and then I feel like she is going to get confused. The touch and feel parts are also extremely tiny, like one little stripe of fur. Many pages are really not even tactile enough to be considered "touch and feel," in my opinion. She also was in a major chewing phase when she got this, and managed to bite through the corner almost immediately.
