New in the Little People, Big Dreams series, discover the incredible life and work of Jane Goodall. The text and illustrations show Jane as a child playing with her favourite toy, a stuffed monkey. She dreamed of living in the jungle with the chimpanzee. She did not go to college or university, but saved every penny to go to Kenya. Once there she got a job observing chimpanzees in the wild and when being still, they accepted her into their family. She was able to see how much they are like humans. She wrote articles and eventually became well known for her work. She is now an advocate for saving the habitat of the primates as well as conservation and education. This is a child friendly biography with delightful illustrations. It is a story that shows a young woman striving to achieve her dream. This book could be used to teach young children how to write a biography, show that it is important to have a dream and strive to achieve it as well as to introduce them to this well known primatologist. A good book for a school library. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book to read via netgalley. The rating, opinions and ideas stated are my own.

This series continues to be such a great series of inspiring books for young readers.When Jane Goodall was little, her father gave her a stuffed chimpanzee, which she named Jubilee. Sometimes a simple thing like a favorite toy can impact a life. Maybe this on did as well. Jane's love of animals caused her to save up for a trip to Africa. She got jobs that eventually led in to what she is most famous for.One of the things I love about this series, besides the amazing, inspiring stories, is that every volume features a different artist. This time around Beatrice Cerocchi is featured, and her colorful, full-page illustrations are colorful and fun.I received a review copy of this ebook from Quarto Publishing Group-Frances Lincoln Childrens, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Her story is inspiring; a perfect example to show children that hard work and perseverance are the key to success. Jane Goodall did not grow up with abundant resources. She worked hard and grasped every possible opportunities to pursue the dreams of her life.A heartwarming little book for children with positive messages. The illustrations are rendered beautifully. "Jane Goodall" is another great read from the "Little People, Big Dreams" series. I highly recommend.
The book "Jane Goodall" is part of the "Little People, Big Dreams" series, which uses short biographies to expose young children to a wide variety of famous people. This book gave a short description of the life of Jane Goodall, and her route into the studies of chimpanzees in Africa, her life's work. I believe that this book in particular would be useful with younger elementary children, in the first through third grades. It's language is easily accessible and the pictures correspond with the simple story. Those illustrations are lively with an element of whimsy. Overall, I would recommend this book to my students, and for any children who would like to learn more about the life of Jane Goodall.Thanks to netgalley for an early peek!
