Now I love all paranormal especially Vampire novels and this book was absolutely uniquely amazing!!!! I am new to Caroline but let me tell you she doesn’t disappoint with her vivid imagination and her characters. I was hooked from page one and couldn’t stop reading until the last page which makes me hate that I must wait for the next book. I was on the edge of my seat and emotionally invested in this book. This book reminded me of Hunger games but far more intriguing. Vampires and hunters are known for their wars with each other, but when the hunters get tired of hunting they decide to capture vampires and torture them. Vampires are kidnapping girls in prison and put them on an island on a survival challenge. Selina is the main character in this book and she is a convicted murderer at a young age of 18, but the man she killed had abused her for years so I found it justifiable I guess. But she is a caring, strong person and I loved how her character was portrayed. Varick is sexy but scary, when his humanity starts to show I feel hopeful for him. I found myself rooting for Selina and Cass and slowly being taken by Varick. The survival rates are not high in the V Games, but it didn’t stop the contestants from trying their hardest. I highly recommend this book, it’s new and refreshing and you will not be disappointed!
Ummm...Can I just say...WOW!Just...WOW!Not going to even lie, this was one of those I was hesitant that I might not enjoy it.I was so WRONG!The cover is beautifully amazing but once you crack that baby open the story rips you apart.I LOVED EVERY FRICKIN MINUTE OF IT!I was constantly on the edge of my seat hoping and praying my favorites made it through each round.I screamed quite a few times not just in horror but excitement!Twenty five girls are pitted against Vampires having to face 5 trials on an island where it’s dark 6 months out of the year. Who will win and what’s the reward?Now all I can hope and pray is book 2 will be out soon cause the wait is already killing me.
What an edgy, exciting, raw , full of action book! Hunger Games with vampires! Selena is a young gal in prison for killing her abusing step father. There she her cell mate Cass and another are taken from prison by the Van Helsings twisted hunters, that are real sickos . The girls are taken to an island where they are forced to participate in the V Games. A series of deadly obstacles and starved vampires among other things it will be kill or be killed . Varick once upon a time was a sea captain, made vampire, enslaved to the Van Helsings,perpetually starved and torchered. Varick is to guide these women through the steps of getting through alive. He wants Selena's blood, it's unlike any other yet he develops feeling for her giving her extra help. I don't want to give spoilers so leaving it at this. This is a wild, thrilling, nail biting book that you are going to love! I've never read this author before, definitely adding her to my list of authors to follow!

In Hunger Games fashion, there are spectators, and they've bet on Selena as the favorite.Their guide through the games is Verick, a vampire who's been under the Helsings thumb for near centuries. While he may be a vampire, he doesn't want to be here any more than the girls. He's got his eye on Selena, and with his help, he might just get her to survive this place.As the title states, this is book one in the series so you're going to need the rest of the books to finish the story, but, you are seriously going to want the rest of the books in the series because once the action starts, it is non-stop. I loved Selena's drive, her desire to be a good person and help others. I loved her connection with Verick, rough as it was at the start. I loved Verick as well, they both make for excellent characters. It's not often I say a book is hard to put down, but this near impossible to. Such a fast-paced, non-stop action filled thrill ride from the get-go. I absolutely loved it.
What a kickass book! I couldn’t put it down! This is going in my top 10 favorite series for sure! When I thought I knew what was going to happen something else would! I was like oh snap!!! Definitely surprising and intriguing.Selena was great! She was sarcastic without trying to hard. Tough and brave. I truly love her and understand why she did the things she did. And she was a fighter in a way that wasn’t predictable or staged. Like she just happened to get away with stabbing that vampire. Lol. It was clever. Selena definitely knew she could die but pushed herself. And she thought of other girls and the vampires. I like the taking a stand for what you believe in and not just following the crowd. Love her, love the action, and love where this series is going!Extremely well written!!!
