Been playing WoW since BETA like 13 years ago (omg... I just read that back... I gotta get out more). I was never really into the lore, but this series made me love it. Good stuff and great artwork—as always with Blizzard. If you love WoW, you'll love these books. I think. Maybe not. Maybe you're hard to please.

Interesting read and a nice follow up to the first book. This second volume covers the history of Dreanor, the First War, the Second War, and the Alliance's foray on Dreanor. Though I've read a few novels on the subject I'm not too familiar with this period of Warcraft Lore and it was informative. From what little I knew already it seems that not much of the canon was changed which is good.

Lots of fun - if you liked Vol. 1, especially, it's worth continuing the "saga"!I wish I'd read it before playing Warlords of Draenor... it might have made me care a lot more about all of that stuff. Much of the book is dedicated to the history of Draenor. Also covers the events of the "First and Second Wars" (Warcraft I and II), which was a great refresher. Reinvigorated my interest in the playing WoW. :)

I preordered this immediately when it was announced. I loved he first one and this one was just ask good. The art is amazing and filling all those holes in WoW is very nice. Although I liked the first volume better because it had more new lore about the beginning of the universe, that's only because I've read almost all the books and a lot of the lore in this one is told in books. But don't fret. There is a ton of little things you'll want to read into. And the art is beautiful. Really hope they keep doing this, but I gotta wait a whole year again. The torture!

A well documented, if concise, history of the orcs and the first couple wars with the alliance. My only complaint is that, once again, goblins only received a couple sentences, when they could have elaborated more on how they made a deal with the orcs.

This book is gorgeous. The detailing is amazing and the illustrations are beautiful. It reads more like a history textbook than a novel and the information is a little bit dry compared to the WoW novel series, but I'm still enjoying reading this book and have no buyer's remorse.

If you like books that go for shock value with the reader, then you will surely be all in with this quickly evolving and yet, somewhat strange novel.This novel is written in second person and that was a bit of a change. I haven't read many books written in that style that I found appealing, and although I think it worked to get inside the mind of the main character in this story, it was still a bit of a struggle for me.To be honest, I'm still not sure what to think about this book. The intellect of the author gleams brightly in her writing, with her ability to cite rare literature and create characters that really stand out from the crowd, but truly, I didn't like any of the characters in this book. I feel like there needs to be a hero, or at least some type of protagonist that you feel you can somewhat support in order to care what happens in a story. I couldn't find anyone I wanted to support.Without giving too much away, I couldn't decide in this book who the villain was. Both of the main characters have rather annoying personalities and both of them seem like a threat to the world at large. I like quirky characters, but these two were over the top.What I did like about this book was the often funny moments of self absorption in the main character and the way he displayed his neurotic tendencies. If you are going to read a book where the main character is less than loveable, then it is a good thing if the author gives you clear reasons to dislike them. At least I didn't have to spend time wondering if I was supposed to like him, as the author's intent was relatively clear on that point.Overall, this was different. I'm sure there will be a lot of people who love it, but I found myself somewhere in the middle. I appreciated that it wasn't like every other book out there, but I'm still not sure the brash attitude of the characters and the second person perspective worked for me.This review is based on a complimentary copy from the publisher and provided through Netgalley. I gave this book 5 STARS... I did this for many many reasons. First I want to start off telling you that this is one of those books that you will either not like or LOVE! I LOVED it. It isn't your every day run-of-the-mill book. It's a deep and twisted psychological driven book.It's twisted and messed up! For some, it may be hard to follow. I will tell you why... First, the writing style isn't what your normal reader is used to. It truly takes talent to write an entire book in second-person. With the second-person writing comes the pop culture aspect. Caroline uses so many pop culture references, I even didn't get all of them. And I am pretty sure I should have. Then you have the mental state of the main characters.Joe, is obviously disturbed. I spent a greater part of the book trying to diagnose him. He is so messed up in the head. However, Beck doesn't really have all of her screws either. After all, she becomes close with her stalker... And in some ways, once she realizes he has been stalking her, she seems half okay with it.This book is a journey with an ending. I say it that way for a reason. It's not necessarily happy or sad or earth shattering.If I had to categorize this book, it would be in the MUST READ MESSED UP book category. Since that category only exists in my head, I would say it's part new adult and part psychological thriller. I read this book about a month ago, and I still find myself daydreaming about it with the confused head tilt. No lie!

Writing in first person is probably one of the more difficult viewpoints for an author to tackle. Kepnes proves this, at least partially, in You, her debut novel.The first half of this book is tedious, almost to the point of wanting to stop reading. But the second half picks up and makes this a worthwhile read. The ending was predictable, with a slight twist that made it satisfying.Since the main character works in a bookstore, there are several references to various well-known novels, as one might expect. This is a bit overdone, in my opinion, and felt more like the author trying to impress with her literary knowledge.What this novel lacked, was the tension or edge of your seat page turning that makes for a great mystery/suspense novel. The “praises” this book has received made my expectation high, only to find, it does not deliver.This one gets three stars, as it is an okay read, just not a great one.

This is a great review/practice for my son who is 6 years old and in 1st grade. This is a great introduction to correcting sentences and writing correctly. My son is able to read the sentences and about 80% of the time can correct them on his own. We do one lesson a day and 2-3 on the weekends. I really do love the layout of this book. We are on week 5 I believe, and I can tell a difference in the way my son is speaking. You can tell this book and review is changing his verbiage that he uses when speaking. My goal is by the time we get halfway through the book, he will be able to do most of these on his own. He is being introduced to commas, more challenging homophones and knowing when to add a word and remove a word, as well as using the correct tense in the sentence. I would definitely recommend this book!

I really like these daily language books. Our daughter is an ELL and really needs additional help with the basics of the English Language. I originally bought her Grade 3, but decided to back her up to the Grade 1 book due to her having a bit of difficulty with some of the vocabulary words at that level. She is an older adopted child and is pretty much learning English from the ground up, so we go through the weekly lessons, and I explain the rules behind it. She is learning some English at school, but there just isn't enough time for the school to go through everything that she needs to learn, so I supplement at home with this book. I really like it and, more importantly, she feels comfortable with it.

This book has a daily language review for each school day. There are so many grammar concepts included I cannot name them all. I am pleased with how children are able to engage in the use of different concepts together verses the focus on once concept at a time. My son has been able to see how capitalizing the first word in a sentence is just as important as the use of proper punctuation.There are no pictures however the book includes a section at the end of each week for the child to keep track of how many they get correct for each day of the week. This has been encouragement for my child and he seems to feel as though he is helping me keep track of his progress.

I used this workbook while teaching second grade. Now retired BUT tutoring second-grade students, it remains a useful tool to address the areas of language arts.

I teach 1st and 2nd grade and I didn't feel my students were getting enough grammar practice in the language arts curriculum. These have been GREAT! I bought the 1st grade book also. A lot of the kids really enjoy doing these. They're simple but get the job done. I'm very impressed with how much more my students have learned this year than the year before I had these books. Highly recommend!

I use this book in conjunction with the daily math review as a morning work review. It covers a variety of grammar and phonics questions. It is perfect practice for my students. They always need help with grammar.

I use this every day with my exceptional learners. They love the routine of having bell work, and I love being able to see progress in editing sentences, learning punctuation, and introducing analogies to them.

My daughter was having trouble in Language Arts so I bought this book for her to do over the summer. She does a week of lessons a day. When she first started she was terrible but by week 7 (day 7) she was getting A's with little to NOT help. Worth the money.
