The information in this book was incredibly insightful. I didn’t know what I was doing at all with multiband compression. It seemed more intimidating because there’s so many parameters to control.It brought simplicity and clarity to what I otherwise perceived as very complex.The techniques in this book helped me use multiband compression correctly and I’m able to bring life and balance to my songs in a way that my previous habits weren’t allowing.It was a bit long of a book, but I don’t think that’s surprising given the subject matter.Unlike other books that are vague and cryptic this one is for the most part straight and to the point giving me the exact settings and reference points to get the sound I wanted.
I think I'm like alot of people still learning multiband Compression so I was feeling very overwhelmed by it.I got this book to help me get a better understanding and his step by step approach has really helped me figure out this crazy tool. His explanations are very accurate unlike alot of authors who seem very vague or just assume you know everything. This is something I was able to pickup and get right away.Wonderful book!
Very solid book. Ive purchased a few books in the series and I really like how simple and easy it is to understand. Lots of wisdom and applicability. The author does a nice job of keeping things simple and to the point while avoiding overly technical jargon.Ive read it once through but so catch myself going back and using a lot of the techniques in the book.

How much is this book when you are reading this review? By the time I wrote it it was $3.03.You can't imagine how much worthier than that it is!!After reading this, assuming you have a multi-band compressor, you'll get about 17 presets (you'll configure them) that can do crazy stuff! I spent a lot of money buying plugins to do the tasks that a multi-band compressor could do if I knew exactly how to use one. This book is actually giving you a bunch of new plugins.Did you ever buy a master-finishing-touch-type plugin? A tone shaper? A transient shaper? A vocals multi-effect plugin because of the way it shapes vocals? Drums multi-effect plugin because of the way it shapes drums? A De-Esser? Nasality reductor? Woofiness reductor? Did you buy the multi-award winner TrackSpacer plugin?Oh, dear... all you needed was this book and 1 Multi-Band Compressor.Go on and buy all the other Nathan Nyquist's books too. They are all very helpful.
