This book is excellent for someone that wants to learn the basics about Wicca on-the-go, and a handy place to start for someone new to the Craft, or just interested in learning a little bit more about it. Information is given as to types and basic building of foundations for your own spells - this is NOT a grimoire, just to be clear.The history given on the various pantheons gives brief overviews and covers most of the bases, and I like seeing all of the basic components typically used in various spells and charms in one place, instead of having to buy eight different books. Stones and herbs commonly used are mentioned, and various types of ritual are touched upon.I’d like to see a pocket grimoire sometime, for the hearth witch with kids; little household charms for everyone. All in all, a good little reference book, and worth the price to have it handle in epub form.

If you are new and starting out in Wicca then this is the perfect book for you.The book covers the history of Wicca (starting with Gerald Gardner and then referring the ancient pre-Abrahamaic beliefs breezing past the conflicted and unfounded sources for the so-called Pagan Myth) and discusses various practices such as the various deities and tools.While brief, it is written on a level that is easy for the beginner Wiccan to understood and covers the various topics in an interesting manner. For example, the section describing the various crystals state why each crystal is useful like Amethysts are used or healing mood and anxiety disorders among other things.My favorite sections are the chapters that describe the various deities sorting them into their various pantheons and how they can assist the mortal that calls them. For example if you have problem that requires clear thinking you might want to consult one of the Gods or Goddesses of Wisdom such as Athena, Brigid, or Odin.Another favorite chapter explores the various paths which Wiccans can follow to use their abilities such as Hedge Witches (who use their abilities to communicate with spirits such as through clairvoyancy or through lucid dreaming) and Green Witches (who use their abilities to help with Environmental causes like healing the earth and gardening.)This is an excellent book not only for those who are beginning their path but also for those on a familiar path to get back to the basics.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.The history of the Wiccan belief system was fascinating as were all the elements of the belief system.The writings about the moon cycles and what they represented were very cool. I didn’t know that wiccans abstain from magical practice during a dark moon.I enjoyed the thorough description of Tarot, having practiced it myself. It was very good and accurate.Reading about the Hellenistic beliefs was cool and comprehensive.There were many things I did not know about in the book too.I had no idea there are so many different types of Wiccans. From Christian Wiccans to Muslim Wiccans.This was a great read with so much information!

Nearly the polar opposite type of a book I would normally reach for, Wicca Spell book by Julia Steyson was a fascinating read. Well written by someone who has great knowledge and understanding about the subject, Steyson does a great job discussing the origin, theory and practice of Wicca in a way that made sense to someone who did not have any prior knowledge on the subject. I had no idea that the Wicca beliefs and ideologies tied back to the Chinese Lunar Wheel. Fascinating! If you’re looking to learn something new, highly recommend this book!

I am very into reading and learning about things that I know nothing about. I have never known anything about this subject and I thought it would be educational. So this this book was a very interesting read. This book is a guide to witchcraft, wicca and magic. This book is informative for a beginner or someone with knowledge on the subject. This book will teach you everything you want to learn about Wicca, spells, and magic. I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in learning about this subject.

"Wicca Spell Book" is a concise, well-written, and seemingly expertly researched introduction to the history, methodologies, and self-centering used in performing rituals and spells. The history portion was especially interesting, as I had no idea that Wicca has its roots in so many of the world's philosophies and nature-based religions (I most enjoyed the sections on Egyptian and Norse mythologies). This is a guide to preparing Wiccan practitioners at the personal level for casting various spells. This is not a kind of step by step cookbook style guide to casting spells; rather it is an introduction to different tools used in Wiccan practices, including crystals, circle drawings, and the balancing of chakras, among others. The section on using salts and bath bombs was very fascinating, as well as the portion relating to the utilization of moon phases. The book also delves into "finding your niche" as a practitioner; it explains how different personalities and different people use spells differently, and identifies which personality types are more adept at different types of casting. A more experienced Wiccan might not find this particularly useful but it is very interesting as an introduction to Wiccan practices, and worth the cost if you are interested in learning some of the background behind this unique lifestyle.Also of note, in the Kindle edition, it is very easy to navigate through each section of the book.

This is a good beginner's guide to the origins and history of Wiccanism. I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this but it was a good read that I found informative and well written. This was a eye opener for someone that doesn't know the first thing about Wiccans outside of what we think of as stereotypical witches. What I liked is that this gave me a better understanding of those who practice Wicca or have similar practices without trying to coerce me into becoming one.

Flora Kinsley needs to feel free. She has difficulty dealing with the loss of her parents even thought many years have passed. Will that feeling never go away? Riding her horse in the Montana wilderness is usually relaxing, but this time things don’t go as planned. A snowstorm catches her by surprise and now she’s lost. The good news is that she finds shelter at Kade’s homestead. The bad news is that she is forced to stay with him overnight. Now her reputation is tarnished and her father, the preacher, is forcing her and Kade to marry. What are they to do? Flora is an interesting character. She lost her parents as a child and it turned her into a strong and determined woman. She and Kade clash. He thinks she’s reckless and she thinks that he’s to cautious. I enjoyed seeing them really get to really know each other as they wait out the snow storm. I liked Flora and Kade. I connected with them. They are good, honest people. The story is well written and filled with true and honest emotions. The dialogue is realistic. I was pulled into this sweet romance. Linda Ford has a writing style that is easy to read. Loving a Rebel made me feel good.

** spoiler alert ** This starts off fairly fast and right into the story. You might Flora as she is lost in a snowstorm away from home. She eventually finds shelter at Kade's house. You can tell right away that both of these characters do not care for each other. They are cordially especially after realizing Flora is going to have to spend the night, which is a big no-no back in this day and age for unmarried people of different genders. They both agree they can't tell her family what happens because they will be forced to marry. I won't give too much away, but her family finds out and Kane has to spend some time courting her. As with all romantic novels, they do fall in love and love happily ever after.There is tons of depth to this book being a Christian based book. Tons of character development, but it doesn't make the book seem long or boring. The author hits a good mix of adventure , romance, and growth to make the book very intriguing. While there is not sex in the book, you definitely can tell from the writing that there are some strong feelings between Flora and Kade.

I can't begin to tell you how much I love Linda Fords Books. She has fast become one of my favorite authors. Her books have a unique quality to them, well developed characters and a vivid well written story. This is no exception. Flora is the adopted daughter of the town preacher. She is also the feisty britches wearing free spirited young girl who could careless what others think much to her fathers dismay. Kade has his own dislike for free spirited risk takers and wants nothing more than to be left alone. So when Flora finds herself being chased in a blinding snow storm the last place she expected to end up was Kades front door! This book makes you feel so good long after you read it. Seriously. Loving A Rebel is the first in this series and I can't wait for the next book. I did received this exclusive ARC copy in from Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review. That being said I also purchased it I like it that much. I highly recommend this author Linda Ford and this book.

I received this book as a free digital copy for an honest review! This story was so good! A nice breath of fresh air! I love how innocent it is. I didn't have to worry if my kids were reading over my shoulder or if they wanted me to read this story out loud to them! A cute and innocent romance! I love how emphasized the scenes were described! Especially the waterfall scene! What a great place to get away! I love the companionship was between Flora and Kade! How they became unexpected friends and how they worked together through some pretty deep stuff and that friendship turned into love. This is how romance should be! My only thing.. and it's a tiny detail, is that some of the scenes felt rushed. like when they made a cake and all of a sudden BAHM it's done! I know it's a book, but baking a cake is no effortless task! That's just an example! Nonetheless I am giving it 5 stars!!

I received this book for an honest review from Hidden Gems.Flora is an independent young woman who wants to feel free. She’s still having trouble with the loss of her parents, who passed away years earlier. She wasn’t expecting a snow storm while she was out riding her horse and finding herself terribly lost, she finds a place to stay with Kade. Unfortunately, she has to stay the night and that one night ruins her. Now the preacher demands she and Kade marry!I’m usually one who greatly enjoys a good steamy scene, but I admit there are occasions where a sweet romance with no hot scenes can leave me satisfied with a story. I loved this story and I love that it takes place in Montana, a state I greatly love, and wish to live in some day. I am wanting to read more from this series and see if they will make me as happy as this story did.

Wow, I really liked Loving a Rebel. Flora is the rebel in this story. She is trapped in the home of Kade Thomas during a storm - just Flora and Kade, no chaperone. Her Pa insists they have to marry; her reputation is at stake. Of course Flora refuses. During his time with Flora, Kade has changed from disapproving of Flora to seeing what she brings to his life. He convinces her Pa to give him time to win her over rather than force her. Kade courts Flora. During all this, they learn so much about each other but about themselves as well, what they want, need and who they are.This was a good, clean story - I totally enjoyed it and highly recommend it.I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

Beautiful book and a smaller size so it was perfect for our son to take to his host family in Costa Rica as a thank you gift!

This book provides a colorful guide to day trips in and around Cincinnati. It is well written and provides many "off the beaten path" ideas for travel seekers of all ages. You are bound to read about a place you have never been to but are now dying to visit. The book highlights travel destinations that are great for repeated visits and provides beautiful color photos of areas of interest. This is well written and an excellent reference guide.

This was a gift for a couple new to the area and they really enjoyed it!

I think it would be helpful for those who live in the area and want something to do. I found it difficult to find things to do in the city limits.

If you live any where close to Cincinnati this a must have ~ I Love this book

The idea of this book really excites me! Painted stacks of books with miscellany items for all things bookish. What I didn't appreciate was the emphasis of current gender issues. The book lists seemed so politically correct (which I am very tired of, actually,) that it took away from the sheer joy of the idea and beauty of this book.

Wow! My copy arrived just a couple days ago, and I was delighted from the moment I opened it. What a gorgeous book, cover to cover! It is full of wonderful tidbits and will delight any book lover. It really feels like the author herself is fascinated by every part of the book world. Somehow she knew just what nuggets of information and details would be the most interesting and engaging.I've been digging into the lists and anecdotes, which are made so much more special and vibrant by the author's wonderful illustrations. The variety of lists was a fun surprise, with lots of categories that I hadn't even thought of before, and the book has already lengthened my "to read" list considerably!I really love the book, and I'm definitely buying extras as gifts for the book lovers in my life!

I adore this book! I think it might be my new favorite browsing type book. I rarely post reviews, but I wanted to balance the bad reviews that I simply don’t understand. I’m not sure what they were hoping for, but this book exceeded my expectations. It is filled with different lists and noteworthy book related things (recommendations by bookish people, bucket list bookstores, books in different genres, bookstore pets, book related foods, etc) and then her illustrations. Her artwork is just perfect for this topic and I love the details she includes. It is an ideal book to pick up and open to any page when you have a few minutes and it’s so pretty! I plan to buy Bibliophile for all of my bookish friends this Christmas.

This book is a must for all book lovers! Each page has amazing illustrations and the topic areas cover everything from different genres to bookstore cats!

This is not a book for bibliophiles. I doubt the intended audience even knows what that means. It is a bookfor people who sit in rocking chairs with a cup of tea and read cozy mysteries about cats who solve crimes It consists of lists of books with no information, just drawings of stacks of books.There are a few literary categories like "19th century literature": book covers of all the most basic, obvious choices, like "Pride and Prejudice" and "Great Expectations." (Really? I need pictures of the book jackets to let me know those are good?). But most of the categories are completely inane, about cookery and pets. I'm surprised they don't have categories like "Books to Curl Up with on a Rainy Day" and "Books to Read While Eating Grandma's Cookies."Intersplicted with the inane lists are features on great bookstores (illustrated, of course), the rooms that writers worked in, and cats (all with whimsical water-color pictures, of course).I was expecting information about books, not just titles and authors, or at least some titles and authors that would interest someone who has already read the classics.I don't understand who the book is aimed at. It feels like a book for devotees of romance novels or cozy mysteries, but they wouldn't be interested in most of the categories, either, and I'm sure they would consider the books listed (or depicted) in their genres very basic and mundane.

Beautiful stunning artwork and my TBR will never be the same. Lovely book.

The illustrations are what sold me on it to begin with but now that I have it in my hands, I love browsing through all the notes about bookstores and bookstore cats and libraries and groupings of different kinds of book. If you're a true Bibliophile, you must have this book in your library. Oh, but best leave it out on the coffee table so you can open it at random and just enjoy.

This book is wonderful!!! So many great insights on a wide variety of books and their authors. The pages are thick and the images are high quality. This book will last a very long time.
